The Women's Therapy Center (WTC), founded in 1978, is a non-profit organization that offers affordable therapy and in-depth professional training to the San Francisco Bay Area community. Our mission is to strengthen individual women, couples, families, and communities through providing accessible therapy for women (and their partners) of all cultures and sexual identities. We believe that every woman is unique. We recognize the powerful impact that gender, race, culture, class, and sexual orientation play in shaping our experiences. Our therapy is guided by the knowledge that human development is influenced by personal history as well as by the larger social environment. Our therapists offer a safe, confidential, and nonjudgemental therapeutic relationship. Together, therapist and client explore and clarify the client's difficulties, devise more effective strategies for coping with them, and create new possibilities for expanded living.
